This application cleans and repairs Windows Registry errors found on your computer, but that's about the gist of it. Its interface is a basic Flash screen that shows the Registry cleaning process and allows the user to fix errors afterwards. Registry Bot automatically creates an undo file after repairing errors and conveniently places it in the folder from which the application is extracted. With a simple double-click the process is undone. Unfortunately, the program does not give a summary of what repairs are made, leaving us to wonder if it's done anything at all. Nevertheless, this program produces rapid results and upon start-up our system does boot faster. Novices will find this freeware favorable for express Registry error repairs.
Interface: Registry Bot's interface average. It isn't difficult to use, but it isn't the easiest interface we have seen either. Like other software in this genre, one draw back is that the "Free Scan" will only show whether there are errors and the user must buy the full product to actually remove them.
Features: Registry Bot is missing two of the feature requirements of PCDoctorReviews which include: Problem Descriptions, Deep Scans, Scanning Logs, Ignore Lists, Back Up/Restore, Startup Manager, Registry Optimizer, and Registry Compactor. The two missing features are a Registry Compactor and a Start Up Manager.
Effectiveness (Detects & Repairs): In order to be listied in the "Top 4" on PCDoctorReviews, applications must detect and repair 12 items including: Application Paths, Shared Program Paths, File Associations, Active X Controls, Add/Remove Programs, Help Files, Font Files, Toolbars, Shared DLL Files, Invalid Shortcuts, Startup Files, Most Recent Files. Registry Bot does detect and make repairs in all 12 areas.
Customer Service: The Customer Service team at Registry Bot provide customer support mainly through email and their FAQ area. Support was not on par with the top four products.
Ease of Use: The Registry Bot's Flash client is average. Customer service was average in both time of response and information provided. PCDoctorReviews gives average marks to Registry Bot in this area.
Software Compatibility: Registry Bot works with all versions of Windows including: 95, 98, ME,
NT, 2000, XP and Vista. Registry Bot won't work on your Mac, but I don't know of a single registry repair software that will.
Exchange/Refund Policy: 60 Day Limited Return Policy .
RegCure works with Vista & all other Windows operating systems. RegCure's greatest strength is that it is extremely simple & easy to use! It performed the same functions as the more expensive and more difficult programs, but in a way that made it easy for a normal person. The customer support is done by email and they do repond to questions.
RegistryBot.com is a robust and thorough registry scanner, offering deep and custom scan options, including ignore lists. It was able to find and repair 98% of the registry problems on our test system, and can be configured to run at start up to ensure regular system scans. It isa very user friendly application.
Error Nuker is a great product. One of its best features is the "scan scheduler" which lets you set up specific start times for a scan. This allows you to complete the scans when you are not using your computer. Automatic software updates are also very nice.
